I want to take this opportunity to share the inspirational testimony of my own mother’s passing. I’ve have purposefully capitalized and made bold the words she said during this time, so they would be easy to find.
My beautiful mother’s name is Joyce England. I told her many times that she was the best mother a child could have, and it was true. Right before she turned 86, she was diagnosed with a cancer. She refused the medical treatment the doctors had suggested, she didn’t believe the side effects were worth the benefits. Throughout the whole ordeal I never heard her angry or pouting. She was a prayer warrior spending hours lifting the needs of others to our Heavenly Father. One night my sister, Sandra, heard her praying for her extensive list of people and asked if she ever prayed for herself. Moms’ response was, “YES.” “What do you pray?” Sandra asked. She replied, “TO BE TOTALLY HEALED OR THE SOONER THE BETTER” Her prayer was answered. She passed within a few weeks.
Mom was not afraid to die; she mentioned quite often how she looked forward to going to heaven. On the evening she passed, right before sunset, she was fully awake and looked toward me, yet it seemed like she was looking through me. Then she clearly exclaimed, “IT’S BEAUTIFUL!“ I knew she was seeing something that I could not see. So I responded, “I bet it is, what do you see?” She didn’t hear a word I said. I truly believe she was experiencing the Heavenly realm.
A little later she was excitedly carrying on conversation that was hard to understand. It sounded like you do when your lips and tongue are swollen after going to the dentist. I went and got Sandra in case we needed to do something to help her. Sandra was a nurse and was a godsend throughout mom’s short battle with cancer. She took about three weeks off of work to be there for her. We all stepped up to help out, but she seemed to go the extra mile. When Sandra came in the room, she heard mom say, “THEY TOLD ME I HAD CANCER, BUT I BEAT IT. HERE I AM WALKING AROUND!” When Sandra told me what she had heard, it made me sad. From our perspective the cancer seemed to be beating her, not that she had beat it. She then saw mom trying to lift herself up and heard her say, “WAIT FOR ME!” Suddenly mom’s countenance fell and she responded, “OK, I’LL TRY.” It seemed like she wanted to get up and follow someone in the heavenly realm, but couldn’t go just yet –she had to wait. Sandra told me, she was fine. Her conversation seemed happy and she wasn’t in pain or anything. Later on, we both heard mom exclaim, “HALLELUIAH!” I had to chuckle as I thought to myself, she is so excited. I wish I could see what she is seeing.
Another thing I heard thrilled me to the core. I will never forget it. It was clear to me and it was very simple. She sweetly said, “HELLO, JESUS!” I was so blessed! She was talking to Jesus! He came to see her! I wished I could see Him!
I continued listening intently as she rambled on with words hard to interpret. Maybe she was speaking in tongues, I just don’t know. But then I heard something that kind of perplexed me, “THANKS, BUT NO THANKS.” Immediately I thought to myself, surely she wouldn’t be saying that if is she is experiencing heaven. What in the world would you ever say, “Thanks, but no thanks” to Jesus for? Everything there is perfect and wonderful; you would want to experience everything Heaven has to offer. Later I was reminded about several people who had died and gone to heaven. When they were asked if they would be willing to come back, their initial response was, “No.” They said that once you are in the presence of Jesus and feel the total acceptance and pure love that He has for you, as well as the excitement and the beauty of heaven, you just do not want to leave. Maybe that was what she was responding to; maybe Jesus asked her, “Do you want to be healed and stay in your body?” She might have replied to that, “THANKS, BUT NO THANKS.” Obviously I don’t know if that was the case. The thought just came to my mind and it seemed to have been prompted by the Holy Spirit. When I get to heaven, they can tell me exactly what was going on that evening.
A little while later I heard mom say, “THANK YOU, JESUS!” It was said with great enthusiasm! It was like someone would say it if they’d just been saved from a terrible accident, or had won the lottery, or something major like that. I was just soaking all this in.
Mom fell asleep for awhile and woke up restless. It woke Dad up so he came over to comfort her. He got in bed with her, while telling her, “It’s okay, I’m here.” As he held her hand, it was like a miracle, she instantly calmed right down. I’ll never forget the power of a loving touch and calming words of reassurance. I think Mom knew it was about time to go and wanted to be close to the love of her life.
A little later, Mom started to struggle. I was helping to reposition her, when her precious body had had enough. Mom’s last words to us were, “I’M SORRY…I LOVE YOU.” Right after that, she gently passed on.
I thought back on why in the world she would say she was sorry, when she was the one who was going through all this. It started to make sense as I remembered everything else she had said. Maybe she was saying she was sorry that she was leaving Dad and the rest of us. I also thought to myself, you were right, mom, when you said that you had beat cancer. You are alive and well walking around and rejoicing in heaven – your cancer will soon be destroyed forever.
I can’t share about Mom’s passing without celebrating her life. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend a person could ask for. She always gave glory to her Heavenly Father, praising Him for His loving kindness, His goodness, her family, her friends and the beauty of His Creation. She always, continued by thanking our Lord Jesus Christ for sacrificing His life for our salvation. She adored them both and you could hear it in her beautiful prayers. I will never forget how a few days before she passed, she looked at me from her bed and said, “SOMETIMES I FEEL GUILTY BECAUSE THE LORD IS SO GOOD TO ME.”
You don’t hear many people facing death say words like that. But God did not let her down. She remained quite peaceful through this whole ordeal. She also felt very little pain. In her hours of struggle, He was right there with her seemingly lifting her spirit right out of it when it was the worst. I smile when I think of all her family and friends who have passed before her, greeting and welcoming her home. When I get sad because I miss her, I remind myself of what a joyous time she is having. Suddenly I find great comfort and peace; the sorrow turns to relief that she is not suffering and is right where she longed to be. She is still deeply in love with all of us, but would not want to come back even if she could. We’ll all just have to go see her someday.
Until then she will always remain in our thoughts and in our hearts. I will share these words from her final testimony for the rest of my life. Every time I tell someone that I heard her say, “HELLO JESUS!” their eyes get wide with excitement. Some even get teary eyed, but they almost always respond, “That just gave me goose bumps!” Leave it to Mom to glorify God even in her last hours on earth. Our precious Savior came to be with, comfort, and rescue her in her time of greatest need. No wonder she exclaimed, “THANK YOU JESUS!” I can just picture Him escorting her to Heaven, walking up the steps of the throne and presenting her to our loving Heavenly Father. I’m sure there had to be lots of praises and big embraces involved. What a joyous reunion it must have been!
Because you are close to me and always available, my confidence will never be shaken, for I experience your wrap-around presence every moment. My heart and soul explode with joy -full of glory! Even my body will rest confident and secure. For you will not abandon me to the realm of death, nor will you allow your Holy One to experience corruption. For you bring me a continual revelation of resurrection life, the path to the bliss that brings me face-to-face with you.
Jesus has made it very simple for you to get saved and have the assurance that you will be going to heaven when you pass. Follow this link to go to a SALVATION PRAYER.
Kat Kerr was commissioned by God to be a revelator. He asked Her to reveal to us truths about what heaven is really like. Not only is heaven beautiful, peaceful, and perfect, it is also super fun and never boring! Lots of laughter, singing, dancing, worship, adventure, and celebration going on everywhere. Everything good that you love on the earth will still be available, only it will be even better in heaven. God's awesome glory and light will be everywhere and we can approach Him at any time. Often people will lay before Him overwhelmed by his magnificent, loving presence. I do not pity believers who pass on. After their last breath, they will start ascending and will be given perfect spiritual bodies. No fleshly flaws, no sickness, no handicaps. They will feel wonderful, better than they ever have. They will be young and beautiful again, there is no aging in heaven. No, I do not pity them, I rejoice for them; knowing they have gone to be with our amazing God in this amazing place!
We believe in an all- loving, all-powerful, supernatural Creator. He is the origin of love and light, there is no darkness in Him. His greatness is incomprehensible. But, sadly we have limited Him in our own minds, way too much! We are His children, made in His image, and we have His Spirit dwelling within us! We all have our own unique personalities, gifts, callings, and destinies. How boring it would be if we were all the same. Don't judge each other because of petty differences. Don't be offended by Kat's pink hair. God asked her to do this so that people would know that He accepted them no matter what color hair or skin they had. To learn more about heaven, I would highly recommend her many resources.
Here's some of the great news I've learned: Jesus told Kat to tell us that when we pray for our family's salvation, He honors those prayers and does not forget. He will come to them even during death, if needed, so they will get a chance to receive or reject Him. Who could ever reject Jesus when they are face to face with such a powerful Savior who gave His life for them? They will never have experienced such love and acceptance before.
In her book, Revealing Heaven, on page 104, Kat says: "One important lesson God taught me was to never judge the heart of man; only He knows what is in it. He decides who goes, because He is the only judge! Many will make last-minute confessions and there will be many people in Heaven that we never expected to see there." Yay!!! I was so happy to hear that! God is so merciful and kind. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit want everyone to come home to be with Them at the end of this life. Their love is even stronger than ours for that person. On page 105 Kat also writes, "THE PURPOSE OF LIFE IS TO BE A PART OF THEIR FAMILY."
What about Suicide? The Holy Spirit told Kat that if a believer has lost control of their normal reasoning because of physical, emotional, or mental trauma He calls it ending their suffering, not suicide. Those individuals still go to heaven. I personally believe that medications, drugs, pain, and/or demonic oppression could play a role in bringing people to this unsound mental or emotional state of trauma.
What about Children? God has also shown Kat that all children go to heaven, including the unborn. They will be waiting for their parents when they get there. So, If you've lost an unborn child you should still name them -even if you had an abortion. God forgives everyone who repents of their sins and turns back to Him. Please let Him heal your heart of all shame and regret you might be feeling. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all unrighteousness. You will get to be with ALL of your children in heaven and they will love you with God's perfect love.
If you are suffering from the loss of a loved one, please find comfort in these amazing words of encouragement that I believe align with God's word and His loving character. These truths resonated with my Spirit and blessed me so much when I heard them.
What about our Pets? Kat also reassures us that our beloved pets will be there waiting for us. Heaven is awesome for them as well. No more cages or fences, they will be free and can come and go as they please. God perfectly loves His creatures too!
If you have not received Jesus as your Lord and Savior, please do. No one wants you to go to hell, especially God. He loves you so much that he sent His Son to save you. Hell is not a party, it is a horrific place of unimaginable pain and suffering. God does not send people to hell. They go because they have rejected their Savior from it -Jesus. He has done everything needed for you to be forgiven and rescued. Now the choice is in your hands. You can repent of your sins, receive Him as your Lord, and spend eternity in Heaven -or you can reject Him and suffer those eternal consequences. Please make the right choice for your sake and for the sake of those who love you. You can follow this link for a SALVATION PRAYER and more information about salvation.
